Building an Effective Strength Program for Endurance Athletes 

As triathletes we spend a lot of time working many, many reps in one direction;meaning we move straight in the same direction rather than side-to-side like many ball sport athletes. This can lead to weaker stabilizing muscles on our lateral side such as the gluteus medius that supports us in a single leg stance while running. But if you're consistent with your training sessions, then strength training can be a great addition to a well-balanced training program.
