MY PHILOSOPHY

I fell in love with running when I was in elementary school, and continued to pursue my passion for running beyond high school. I learned that no one could put limits on my work ethic and joy for the sport. I learned how crucial it was to have a solid coach that not only believed in you but encouraged you on your journey of believing in yourself.

I went from being a walk-on freshman athlete at the University of Idaho NCAA D1 to a scholarship cross country/track athlete for the remainder of my college career. I learned that there is a sweet spot for each individual athlete & the mileage their body needs to perform at their goal paces. I discovered how valuable it was to train healthy & smart, prioritize recovery, strength train/ lift weights, and be able to adapt and adjust in order to support lifelong running goals and success.

I have continued to run post collegiately while working as a full time first responder and balancing that as a mother in pursuit of my running goals of an Olympic qualifying time standard for the marathon.

I am the kind of person that could sit down for coffee & talk about everything running all day. I love coaching a wide range of people from those starting young to those who maybe found their love for the sport later in their adult years like my husband. I’ve learned so much as an elite athlete myself as I have continued to grow in my running journey.

It brings me joy to coach & encourage my athletes in the pursuit of their goals and dreams in life and in running. I believe to do this requires understanding each individual’s goals, schedules, commitments and priorities to ensure I am equipping them with the tools, individualized realistic training plans and the support they need to be successful while still living a balanced life.

I love being able to encourage athletes through the setbacks that life can throw your way as I’ve had my own personal injuries to overcome as well as returning to running postpartum after two kids. Not every season is perfect or goes the way we expect it to, however with the right mindset, an attitude of gratitude and the relentless pursuit to overcome—the possibilities are endless of what you can achieve and the refined strength you will develop that makes you better.

I am humbled and in awe when I see teammates or people I coach not only surpass their goals but discover their personal abilities to adapt, adjust, overcome and find the joy in their journey. I am honored and excited to support others in their fitness goals and athletic endeavours.
