MY PHILOSOPHY
Being a competitive athlete runs in my blood. My father was a collegiate hurdler and the Marshall High School Cross Coach for 13 years. My parents were both very competitive road runners in the 80s/90s and ran marathons into the 2000s and were great role models for me. I was introduced to the world of triathlon during my time at Texas Tech after never racing farther than a 5k. Our club sponsor was Mike Greer, a legend in triathlon and the Buffalo Springs Lake 70.3 race director.
In a race, I love to have to mentally dig deep and see what my body can do along with the comradery and friendships that you develop over the years. Between that and with the Navy SEALs training I feel I am pretty good at dealing with the hard mental side of racing, training, and other physical challenges that arise.
Now with my training experiences, my mentors such as my father, Mike Greer, and coaches through the years and degree in Exercise & Sports Science, pulling together the data I gleaned from having a coach in triathlon as well as mountain bike racing recently, and my passion to keep learning I feel I have a lot of knowledge and resources to properly and safely train my athletes. I’m very detail-oriented and use that to my advantage. I seek to help athletes who wish to have a coach who can guide them through the rigors of training for and competing in their events. I also hope my clients can come to me if they do not feel comfortable opening up to their friends or family about battles they may be experiencing in life. Sport has opened my world to some amazing friendships and allowed me to see beautiful places around the country and globe. I am very excited to use my skills and experience to help those interested in furthering their athletic endeavors.
